The Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas (CFNEK) is honored to welcome three exceptionally accomplished individuals to our board of directors. Andrew Comstock, Deacon Jason Imlay and Veronica Sellers, bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and expertise that will advance CFNEK's mission and benefit our Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.

Congratulations to these smiling students from John Paul II in Overland Park, Kansas. These students were honored at a recent scholarship awards ceremony. Zella Handzel and Payton Knaus were the recent recipients of the Mary Anne Brown Scholarship Fund and Carleigh Heffron was awarded the Anita Striegel Scholarship Fund scholarship. Both of these scholarship funds were set-up to benefit students attending John Paul II. These scholarships are held and managed at the Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas.

The Archbishop's Invitational High School Art Exhibit Awards reception was held on March 4, 2022 at Savior Pastoral Center. Now in its eighth year, this annual opportunity serves as a celebration of the God-given talent of the young people in our schools.

We extend a very warm welcome to Bridget Downey to the CFNEK team. Bridget will be taking on the role of our new accounting assistant. Bridget will be working closely with Bobby Venable, our controller.

This Sunday is the third Sunday in Advent, known as Gaudete Sunday. "Gaudete" means "rejoice" and this Sunday is meant to encourage us on our journey to Bethlehem. The theme is joy and gladness as we anticipate the celebration of Christ's coming.

GivingTuesday will be helping parishes, schools and ministries within the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas fund many needed projects.

The Catholic Fine Arts Council of the Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas invites you to attend the 2021 St. Cecilia Mass in person. The 2021 St. Cecilia Mass is at 6:30 p.m., Friday, November 19, 2021 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 15438 Leavenworth Road, Basehor, Kansas.

The team at the Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas is thrilled to let you know that we have updated our Stock/Mutual Fund Gift Instructions. The Catholic Foundation reached out to our investment manager, Tower Wealth, to see how we could modernize our stock gift procedures. Tower Wealth offered a solution that is more secure, efficient, faster and less expensive. Therefore, increasing the value of our fundholders gifts and the proceeds available for their beneficiaries. We are delighted to have so much activity going on at the Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas' office. Within the past month, we have been buzzing with energy. It might be summer, but things are busy at The Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas.

During this Sunday's Pentecost feast, we will hear this Psalm proclaimed. In this time of the pandemic, our prayers for renewal and healing may have a newfound earnestness. And yet we have also experienced in many profound ways how many Spirit-led people are responding courageously and generously to those in need.

The Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas has had a busy and exciting month!

This week began with the start of daylight savings time. As we spring forward we are looking towards our St. Thomas More Continuing Education Program. The event is going virtual and registration is now open.

Everyone at the Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas is excited for the 2021 year! With it brings a new logo, many goals, lots of opportunities and new faces.
