Pat & Mel Mcanany
For five generations, Pat and Mel McAnany have been pillars of St. Joseph Parish in Shawnee, Kansas. Pat's service encompasses participation in building projects and parish councils, reflecting their commitment to both material and spiritual growth. Engaged in the Spiritual Mentorship Program with the Apostles of the Interior Life, they emphasize the transformative power of prayer. Through the School of Faith and as Donor Advised Fund holders at the Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas, they support numerous ministries, living out their conviction that blessings from God are meant to be shared to advance His mission.
7th Annual Archbishop’s High School Art Exhibit
The Catholic Fine Arts Council’s theme for the 2020 exhibit was “Enflame Our Hearts.” In 2019, the CFNEK Staff and School Office convened with High School Art Teachers to discuss this theme. Emily Lopez from the Evangelization Office of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas joined the gathering, offering support and insight to help the teachers engage their students in creating artwork that reflected the theme, encouraging spiritual and artistic expression for the exhibit.
Archdiocesan Enflame Our Hearts
The Catholic Fine Arts Council showcased an art gallery at the Archdiocesan Enflame Our Hearts Convocation in October 2019, presenting a variety of artistic works including sculptures and religious pieces. A sculpting demonstration was held, and visitors were invited to join different CFAC Guilds. The St. Cecilia Guild later hosted a Mass and reception in November 2019, providing an opportunity for members to meet and connect with the community.
